Study on Pectin Extraction from Orange Peel

Wang Hongfei Li Hesheng Xie Guohuang Fu Shujia (Ningbo University)  
The acid soaking method used for pectin extraction has the features of quick ext raction,simple operation,convenient control and high extraction rate. The expe riments of pectin extraction from orange peel were carried out,by the hydrochlo ric acid extraction method and the ethanol deposition method. The result shows t he pectin extraction rate is high when the ratio of solution/material is 10~15 , pH of solution 2~3,time 45 min, and temperature around 80℃. On the ba se of single factor trial,the orthogonal trial was used in optimization of tech nological parameters. The feasible technological conditions are 10 of solution/m aterial ratio,pH value 2,80℃ of temperature and 45 min of time. By the above condition,the of pectin extraction rate can be 70.68%.
