Analysis of Nutritional Components and Antioxidant Capacities in Flowers of Peony

Shi Guoan~ 1,2 Guo Xiangfeng~1 Bao Manzhu~2 (1.He'nan University of Science and Technology 2.Huazhong Agricultural University)  
The nutritional components and antioxidant capacities in flowers of Paeonia suffruticosa Andr. were analyzed by using conventional biochemical methods. The antioxidant capacities were also analyzed with NBT light reduction and salicylic acid method. The results showed that there was relatively high total phenolics,flavonoids, vitamin, mineral element and protein content, comprehensive amino acids and high content of essential and delicate amino acids. There were high nutritional components and strong antioxidant capacity in five variety flowers of Paeonia suffruticosa Andr. and is worth of further studying.
