Compatibility of six common pesticides with Beauveria bassiana and Verticllium leacanii

GU Zu-min, LI Lu, JI Ming-shan, CHENG Gen-wu, WANG Ying-zi (College of Plant Protection, Shenyang Agricultural University, Shenyang 110161, Liaoning, China)  
The effect on conidial germination and mycelial growth of Beauveria bassiana and Verticllium lecanii was determined for 3 insecticides and 3 fungicides at conventional field use concentrations. The three tested insecticides had minimal effect on B. bassiana conidia, with germination rates exceeding 85%. However, these insecticides more significantly impacted V. leacanii, with the lowest rate of germination inhibition provided by chlorfluazuron at 25%. The 3 fungicides almost completely inhibited spore germination in the two fungal species. The insecticides provided some inhibition of B. bassiana mycelial growth, with inhibition rates from 22.60% to 38.39%. Effects on V. leacanii mycelia were smaller than on B. bassiana, with inhibition rates between 10.06% and 17.61%. Inhibition of B. bassiana and V. leacanii mycelia growth by the three fungicides exceeded 50%.
