A new biocontrol actinomycete strain AL-04 was isolated from a soil sample collected in Qingzang Plateau. It produces a new antibiotic, with a strong inhibition against phytopathogenic fungi and bacteria.Farm experiment of AL-04 showed that incidence of a disease of strawberries that were treated by dipping root was smaller than that of control significantly. Its biocontrol effect was 84.8% high, which showed a strong immune effect.Furthermore it was discovered that trunk of strawberry by the treatment growed healthier and better than that of control. Also roots of strawberry was more developing than that of control. Its dry-mass was 2 times high as that of control, which showed a quite strong growth promoting effect.
