Field Efficacy of Sulfoxaflor on Mulberry Thrips and Its Safety Evaluation to Silkworm

[Aims]This study aims to clarify the field efficacy of sulfoxaflor 50%WG against mulberry thrips(Pseudodendrothrips mori) and its safety to silkworm,Bombyx mori(L.).[Methods]The field experiment of sulfoxaflor50%WG against mulberry thrips was investigated by spraying method,and its residual toxicity to B.mori was evaluated by feeding the silkworm with the insecticide-treated mulberry,Morus cdbus(L.),leaves.[Results]The control effects of sulfoxaflor 50%WG at 333-500 mg/L on mulberry thrips ranged from 59.10 to 96.32%after 3 d after treatment,and the control effects were superior to control insecticide phoxim 40%EC 400 mg/L,and there were no phytotoxicity to mulberry.After 13 d after treatment,the developmental duration of survival larvae,the weight of dormant silkworm,the weight of mature silkworm,cocoon weight,cocoon shell weight,pupa weight and pupation rate in treatments of sulfoxaflor 50%WG showed no significant difference compared with the control.[Conclusions]Sulfoxaflor50%WG can be used to control mulberry thrips in field,and the safety intervals on silkworm was more than 13 d.
