Social exclusion on emotion influence and its recovery

YANG Xiaoli;LI Jing;School of Psychology, Northwest Normal University, Key Laboratory of Behavioral and Mental Health;
Social exclusion has a negative impact on many aspects of the individual, while the impact on emotions is very complex. Studies have found that individuals who suffer from social exclusion sometimes produce negative emotions such as humiliation, depression, pain, and sometimes emotional numbness,which is quite puzzling. This article will discuss how to help individuals recover from negative emotions caused by social exclusion from the perspectives of emotional regulation strategies, mindfulness, contact factors, social support and financial incentives. In future studies, it is suggested that researchers' attention should be paid to the negative effects of social exclusion on the excluded implementers, and that social exclusion can be reduced from the perspective of the excluded themselves.
