Social support and positive emotional regulation in college students:A moderated mediating model

To examine whether Confucianism cultural identity played a mediation role in the association between social support and positive emotional regulation, and whether resilience moderated between social support and confuciansim cultural identity.593 college students participated in this study and completed four questionnaires, which included measures of perceived social support, Confucianism cultural identity,the resilience of Chinese adolescent and emotion regulation. Results:(1)Confucianism cultural identity mediated the relationship between perceived social support and positive emotional regulation;(2)Resilience moderated the mediating path from perceived social support to Confucianism cultural identity. Simple slope analysis indicated that the low resilience was more likely to promote Confucianism cultural identity than those with high resilience. Conclusion: Perceived social support have direct effects on positive emotional regulation and indirect effects through Confucianism cultural identity. Resilience moderates the effect of perceived social support to Confucianism cultural identity.
