Effect of Ethephon on Several Cold Hardiness Indexes of Carbernet Sauvignon

This experiment was carried out on 6 years old Carbernet Sauvignon grapevine with different concentration of ethephon spraying in autumn,several cold hardiness indexes were observed afterwards.The results showed that a concentration of 1000 mg/L ethephon had the best effects on the cold hardiness indexes in which the electrical conductivity in the shoot and root were the lowest,the concentration of MDA was decreased,and the concentration of soluble sugar and the concentration of proline were the highest level.All these indexes suggest that 1000mg/L ethephon help to enhance the cold hardiness of Carbernet Sauvignon.
