Ancient falling-tone relaxation in Yangxin dialect evolved in two directions. Most of ancient falling-tone Chinese characters are incorporated into flat-tone Chinese characters; a small number of them are incorporated into ancient entering-tone Chinese characters, which is also called falling-tone relaxation for variation. This paper reveals this phenomenon. The cause is explored from four aspects, namely the remaining entering-tone Chinese characters, theinheritance of characters in the middle ancient times, changing into entering-tone Chinese characters, influence of collocation words.Meanwhile, professor Huang Qunjian's view is discussed that all falling-tone Chinese characters in Beijing dialect which do not come from ancient enteringtone is read as flat-tone in Yangxin Dialect now.
