Research on Collaboration and Its Quantifiable Model in the Network Centric Warfare

Collaboration is one of the tenets of Network Centric Warfare, and also its important target. The concept of collaboration and its quantifiable model is now one of the focuses about Network Centric Warfare. Based on explicit explanation of the concept of collaboration, the author analyses the domains of collaboration, and collaboration in both the information and cognitive domains in Network Centric Warfare, points out collaboration has both merits and shortcomings. Moreover, simplifies the effects of collaboration to the time effect of mission complete brought by collaboration. The author uses information entropy to quantify the “positive effects”, uses Logistic equation to quantify the “negative effects”. Considering both the positive and negative effects, a simplified quantifiable model is delivered. Finally, points out that the model delivered is suitable to quantify the time-critical collaboration such as collaboration in the counter-air force operations.
