Driving Range Estimation for Electric Vehicles Based on Battery Energy State Estimation and Vehicle Energy Consumption Prediction

In this paper,a driving range estimation model is proposed based on the energy state estimation of traction battery and vehicle energy consumption prediction.On one hand,battery state model is built to estimate the remaining usable energy of battery and analyze the effects of different factors on it.By using vehicle test data,the energy consumption parameters of vehicle are identified with recursive least-squares algorithm,and with the driving conditions predicted,the energy consumption of vehicle and hence the driving range are calculated.Compared with the conventional methods,the driving range estimation model proposed based on battery energy state estimation and vehicle energy consumption prediction is more accurate.
