Application of Reinforced Block Shear Wall Structure in High-rise Apartment Buildings in Zhuzhou City

No1 and No5 apartment buildings of Zhuzhou Guomai Residential Quarter are of reinforced block shear wall structure. No1 building is of 17 levels of floor with 51.5m in height and No5 building is of 19 levels of floor above ground and 2 levels of basement with 60.3m in height above ground. No5 building is the highest building of reinforced block shear wall structure in China so far. In this paper, the design and construction of the two buildings are introduced and compared with the other three high-rise buildings of reinforced concrete shear wall structure that were constructed in the same project at the same time. The analysis verifies a lot of advantages of reinforced block shear wall structure.
