Research Development of Automotive High Temperature Magnesium Alloy

Guan Shao-kang,Wang Ying-xin (Materials Engineering College, Zhengzhou University of Technology, Zhengzhou Henan 450002 China)  
Research development on high temperature magnesium alloy at home and abroad are summarized. The properties of Mg-Al alloy ,Mg-Zn alloy, Mg-RE alloy are set forth respectively. High temperature creep mechanism of all kinds of magnesium alloy and their applications in automotive parts, such as engine, oilpan, gear box and transmission axle case, which require high mechanic property and high density are discussed. For research and development of high temperature magnesium alloy, some suggestions are brought forth.
