Analysis on Structure Strength and Topological Optimization for Metal Ceramic Clutch Driven Disk

Study on load on metal ceramic ctlutch during engaging and its strength under boundary conditions hasheen carried out. The stress and strain distribution of driven disk has heen computed with the finite element analysismodel developed by us. One topological optimization method based on FEM is presented to improve the structure designof driven disk. As a result, the mass of the prototype is reduced hy 17.8 % and the maximum equivalent stress is reducedby 20% while meeting requirements of installation and usage. It is shown from study that the topological optimizationmethod can he applied to structure design in practice on the assumption that the finite element models of parts under keyload are possible to be created with linear analysis method.
