Experimental Study on Milling Force of Stainless Steel Round Head

Milling tests for stainless steel are carried out with the multi-factors orthogonal test method.With the force measuring system,milling force of the ramp round-head milling cutter of casting stainless steel is measured,and the empirical equation for evaluating the milling force of casting stainless steel Cr1Ni18Ti9 is concluded,and its validity is verified.The equation can be used to evaluate the milling force of selected milling parameters in advance,so as to avoid cutter damages resulting from oversized milling force.The equation can also be used as a reference for milling cutter design and optimized selection of stainless steel milling parameters.
