Modal Analysis and Study on Optimization of Car Door Based on Finite Element Method

The finite element modeling and modal analysis for a car door are carried out by using software Patran and Nastran,and the inherent frequency as well as vibration types are also gained.The contrastive analysis of the car door's computed results and tests results shows that the finite element model of car door well represents the vibration characteristics of the original structure;and the car door and complete vehicle have similar frequency.It is possible to avoid having similar frequency by optimizing the thickness of some parts on the car door,which provides a techincal basis for car door development in the future.
