Strength Enhancement Design of Engine Mount based on FEM

To solve the problem of rubber tearing and damage of some vehicle engine mount,finite element(FE) model of engine mount was built,the calculated mount vertical stiffness was roughly identical with the test data,proving validity of this model.The computation of static model and dynamic model show that the internal stress of the rubber pad concentrates at the corner of the stress-bearing surface.Structure of the mount model is modified,and stiffness measurement and fatigue durability test were made to the test piece before and after the modification.The results show that after modification,the vertical static stiffness is reduced by 7.5% compared with the original mount;static stiffness variation rate and permanent deformation after compression are 32% and 6% of the specified limit value.
