Design and Implementation of Dynamic Matching Equalizer for Electric Vehicle Power Battery Packs

This paper focuses on the scientific issues that for new energy vehicles the battery capacity is not balanced during the charging and discharging processes and that the overall performance of the battery pack goes down. The proposed improvement is based on a boost chopper circuit and the Cuk equalizer and a new equalizer with high efficiency of equalization was designed which can dynamically adjust the priority order of the charge and discharge of a single cell according to the charge state difference. The experimental results show that the improved equalizer can effectively increase the overall performance of the power battery and has a certain practical value in achieving efficient equilibrium.
