Design and optimization of inertial-measurement-unit pedestal on launch vehicles

The design and optimized process of inertial-measurement-unit(IMU) pedestal on launch vehicles is proposed in this paper.Focusing on the design of the IMU pedestal,an optimization procedure of kinds of key structural components like IMU pedestal is presented,and a design measure of organized combination of several FEM softwares and engineering methods is summarized,which can be referred in the design of relevant products.After some iteration steps of topology optimization,engineering design,and rigid analysis,a design scheme of the IMU pedestal,as a novel installation of the IMU,is obtained in this paper,which can be referred in the future designing of the similar structures.
