Study on the Secondary Metabolites of Sponge-Associated Fungus,Aspergillus sp BH4

The secondary metabolites of the marine fungus Aspergillus sp BH4 derived from a sponge,were studied.The ethyl acetate extracts of the fermentation broth and mycelia showed cytotoxicity against Artemia salina.By means of repeated chromatography over silica gel,preparative TLC and recrystallization,4 compounds were isolated.And their structures were identified as ergosterol(1),1,4,5-trihydroxy-7-methoxy-2-methylanthracene-9,10-dione(2),2-(3,5-heptadienyl)-3,6-dihydroxy-5-(3-methyl-2-butenyl) benzaldehyde(3),and 2-(1-heptenyl)-3,6-dihydroxy-5-(3-methyl-2-butenyl) benzaldehyde(4),by spectroscopic method including 1D,2D NMR and MS.
