EFFECT OF βAP ON OPEN FIELD AND LEARNING-MEMORY IN THE AGING MODEL OF RATS

Objective To study effect of β_amyloid protein(βAP) on open field and learning memory in the aging model of rats. Methods Based upon the model of aging rats induced by D_galactose, and hippocampal microinfusion ofβAP. The behaviors of rats were measured by using open field, Y_maze and one-trial passive avoidance response. Results In the D_gal+NS and D_gal+βAP rats, the spontaneous activities and responses to novel environment in the open field were significantly decreased, and the abilities of learning-memory were remarkably attenuated, ( P 0.05 or P 0.01 compared with NS+NS group). Conclusion The degree of brain_aging was increased and the ability of learning_memory was reduced conspicuously by dosing the combination of D_gal and βAP.
