A type of wears failure of Al-based alloy's ceramic layer formed by micro-arc oxidation

ZHANG Rong-jun,HAO Jian-min(School of machine engineering,Chang'an University,Xi'an 710064,China)  
Ceramic layer with different thickness was fabricated by micro-arc oxidation on the surface of 2A12 Al alloy,and the ceramic layer's wear-resistant property was tested on the condition of rolling friction.Results showed the type of ceramic layer's wears failure was affected by ceramic layer's thickness under this friction condition;while the ceramic layer would desquamate if its thickness was less than the critical numerical value.Basing on the fatigue theory,we investigated this failure type.
