Effects of Ca on mechanical properties of Mg-6Al alloy

In order to find out the effects of Ca on the mechanical properties of Mg-6Al alloy,tensile tests,fracture analysis and microstructure observation are used to study the tensile strength and elongation of Mg-6Al alloy with different content of Ca at room temperature and 150℃,and the relation between Ca and the mechanical properties of Mg-6Al alloy is obtained.The results show that with the increase of Ca content,the tensile strength and the elongation of Mg-6Al alloy increase at first and then decrease.And the peaks appear at w(Ca)=1%.With the suitable content of Ca,the microstructure of Mg-6Al alloy can be improved and the mechanical properties can be promoted.
