Research and development of heat resistant magnesium alloy

SHI Ya-jing,LI Quan-an,REN Wen-liang,ZHANG Xing-yuan(School of Materials Science and Engineering,Henan University of Science and Technology,Luoyang 471003,China)  
The creep mechanism of magnesium alloy at high temperature and the design methods of heat-resistant magnesium alloy system are introduced.The present research statue of heat-resistant magnesium alloy improved by the addition of rare earth(RE),alkaline(Ca,Sr)and other elements(Si、Bi、Sn) is reviewed.It is pointed out that the future direction of research and development of heat resistant magnesium alloy is to develop magnesium alloy with low cost,good castability and good comprehensive mechanical properties.
