The Theory in Situ Electrophoresis of Cell Membrane Components

Recently, a technique of in situ electrophoresis has been developed for studying the molecular movements in the cell membrane, and has become a new method for probing the fluidity of cell membrane. In the present study, the theory of in situ electrophoresis of cell membrane components has been reviewed systematically, and the results of non-steady state distribution, intracellular effects of external electric field and effects of external electric field on membrane potential have been derived in detail for the first time. Finally, the application of this theory was introduced briefly.
