Diuretics adsorption and desorption on chitosan and modified chitosan microspheres

A microshper adsorption material was developed to pretreat diuretic samples.The 70 μm diameter chitosan microsphers were prepared using the inverse suspension crosslinking method with glutaradehyde as the cross-linking reagent followed by modification with succinic anhydride to obtain the suc-chitosan microspheres.The furosemide and triameterene adsorption and desorption characteristics of the microspheres were then measured.The chitosan microspheres have good furomeside adsorption capacity with good triameterene adsorption only after the chitosan was modified with succinic anhydride.The experiements indicated that ethyl acetate acted as an efficient desorption agent to concentrate the diuretics from the original sample.The concentration in acetate after desorption equilibrium was linearly related to the original concentration.This material can reduce the cost of diuretic sample pretreatment.
