Induction motor energy optimization control strategy based on variable-structure control

The maximum torque per ampere control strategy is a simple and effective optimal energy control strategy.This method increases motor efficiency by reducing the stator currents while satisfying the electromagnetic torque demand.This paper describes a maximum torque per ampere control strategy based on variable-structure control.This strategy uses the stator current error equation as the switching equation.The system stability is defined based on the variable-structure control with a sufficiency condition given for system stability.Simulation results show that this scheme has similar dynamic response to direct torque control,with much higher efficiency at low loads.
