On the plane wave generated by mixedpusherrocker flap wavemaker

It is a reasonable way to generate the plane progressive wave by mixed pusherrocker flap wavemaker. Since the transverse motion of the water particle is simulated more really, the sinusoidal motion of the mixed pusherrocker flap may be efficiently translated into the motion of plane progressive wave, while the attenuating waves are relatively small. The analytical expressions of potentials, wave elevations and dynamic pressures on the flap are derived in frequency and time domains for the linear plane wave generated by the wavemaker. According to the calculation results a better flap motion scheme with good wave character and high wavemaking efficiency is recommended, which has practical value to design and utilize the wavemaker system.
