NONLINEAR SELF CONSISTENT SIMULATION OF HIGH HARMONIC SLOTTED GYRO TWT AMPLIFIER

The behavior of the slotted gyrotron travelling wave amplifier(gyro TWT) with a uniform section is simulated by a Runge Kutta algorithm code under the condition neglecting the velocity spread and guiding center spread of the electron beam and the loss of the wave guide. Some important interaction laws are abtained. The electron beam encircles the axis of the waveguide. For an ideal 58kV、8A beam with v ⊥/v ∥ =1.5, the saturated efficiency of a fourth harmonic gyro TWT, working at 35 05 GHz, reachs 24.4%, the peak output power reachs 113.2kW, the saturated gain is 34dB. 3dB saturated bandwidth is 4%.
