Study of improving the corrosion resistance on the AZ91D magnesium alloys

Forming plating on the surface of AZ91D magnesium alloys through DEN,using basic nickel carbonate as the source of nickel.Using X-ray diffraction and the scan electronic microscope equipped with energy dispersive,the surface morphology and microstructure and the composition of the plating were observed.Measured and assessed the corrosion resistance of the plating with the salt spray tester.The result shows that the electroless coating is composed of compact cells structures,phosphor content is 11.24 %,which belongs to medium-high phosphor coating,and corrosion resistance is very well,corrosion spots had not appeared to on the coating at saltmist for continuous 16 h.
