Application comparison of graphitized cathode carbon block and 50% graphite cathode carbon block in 500 kA prebaked aluminum reduction pots

This paper collects the production data of 40 graphitized cathode carbon block reduction pots and 40 50% graphite cathode carbon block reduction pots under the same technological conditions, including a series of operating parameters such as daily fluoride salt feeding times, daily fluoride salt quantity, daily feeding amount, temperature of cathode collector bar/pot side steel plate/pot bottom plate as well as the inner shape of the pot cavity. By comparing and analyzing the economic and technical indexes of the above data, the results show that compared with 50% graphite cathode carbon block reduction pots, the graphitized cathode carbon block reduction pot can operate stably with higher current efficiency, lower power consumption, longer service life and higher performance cost ratio.
