Relationship of Split-renal Function to Renal Arterial Stenosis

AI Hu,ZHENG Jian-guoSUN Fu-cheng,et al.Department of Cardiology,Beijing Hospital,Beijing 100730,China
Objective To investigate the relationship between renal artery stenosis(RAS)and single kidney glomerular filtration rate(SKGFR)by nephro-dynamic imaging. Methods Atherosclerotic RAS was conformed by renal angiography in 55 patients.According to RAS,we divided the patients into groups and compared the differences in SKGFR between groups with different degrees of RAS.Results(1)In patients with 50% or more unilateral RAS,SKGFR of affected kidney was significantly decreased as compared with that of healthy kidney(P0.05).In patients with 50~69% or 60~89% unilateral RAS,no significant difference was observed in SKGFR between affected kidney and healthy kidney(P0.05).In patients with 90% or more unilateral RAS,SKGFR of affected kidney was significantly lower than that of healthy kidney(P0.01).(2)SKGFR of patients with bilateral artery stenosis was significantly lower than that of patients with unilateral artery stenosis(P0.01).(3)SKGFR of kidney with 70% or more artery stenosis was significantly decreased(P0.05).Conclusion In nephro-dynamic imaging of patients with unilateral atherosclerosis RAS,SKGFR of effected kidney is lower than that of the opposite, which is related to RAS;SKGFR of patients with bilateral atherosclerosis RAS is significantly lower than that of patients with unilateral RAS.
