Effectiveness of Community Intervention on Elderly Depressive Disorders in Beijing Yuetan Community

Objectives To explore the community intervention of the elderly depressive disorders,to provide more evidences for community intervention policy.Methods Geriatric Depression Scale was used to screen 84 patients with elderly depressive disorders and to perform 6-month community intervention(conventional and psychological),and then the effects were analyzed.Results The post-intervention scores of Geriatric Depression Scale,Hamilton Depression Scale,Quality of Life Summary Scale,Family Functional Assessment Scale,Social Support Rating Scale were 15.0±4.0,8.7±6.4,17.9±3.3,4.8±2.6,27.1±7.0,respectively;the pre-intervention scores were 13.0±5.0,10.6±6.7,18.7±4.0,4.1±2.0,25.1±5.1,respectively.The difference was significant(P0.05).Conclusions Community intervention can relieve depressive symptoms and improve quality of life in patients with elderly depressive disorders.
