Design of Composite Girder Cable-stayed Bridge over Minjiang River at Qingzhou

GAO Zong yu (China Zhongtie Major Bridge Reconnaissance and Design Institute, Wuhan 430050, China)  
The main bridge of Qingzhou Minjiang Bridge is a composite girder cable stayed bridge with main span of 605 m. This bridge has the longest span of composite cable stayed bridge in the world and its deck width is 29 m, navigation clearance is 43 m. Foundation of two diamond\|shaped main towers are steel pipe piles with diameter 2 m and bored piles with diameter 3 m respectively. The composite girder consists of 2 steel I section longitudinal beams and concrete deck slab. Cable anchorage structures are welded on the top flange of longitudinal girders. New type strands are used for all cables. Distinguished anti wind behavior and aerodynamic measurement of this bridge are also presented in this article.
