Fabrication and Erection Techniques for Steel Pylons of the 3rd Nanjing Changjiang River Bridge

The main bridge of the 3rd Nanjing Changjiang River Bridge,1 288 m in total length,is a 5-span continuous steel box girder cable-stayed bridge with steel pylons and two cable pylons.The pylons of the Bridge are designed as inverted V shape,each being 215 m in height.In this paper,in the light of the structural features and difficulties of fabrication and erection of the pylons,the overall construction technology schemes and key workmanship measures adopted for construction of the pylons are dealt with.
