Study of the inhibitory effect of quercetin on transplantation tumor of breast carcinoma cell line MCF-7 in nude mice

OBJECTIVE:To study the inhibitory effect of quercetin on transplantation tumor of breast carcinoma cell line MCF-7 in nude mice and its effect on cell proliferation.METHODS:The animal model of MCF-7 transplantation tumor in nude mice was copied.24 nude mice with transplantation tumor were randomized into 4 groups with 6 mice in each group.The growth rate and the weight of the transplantation tumor were observed.The structure of the tumor was observed with microscope as well as electron microscope and the expression level of Ki-67 was detected by immunohistochemistry.RESULTS:The control group is more than quercetin group,adriamycin group and combining group respectively in the growth rate and weight of transplantation tumor,P0.01.The inhibitory rates of quercetin group and combining group are 36.46% and 41.49% respectively.As for Ki-67 label index,the control group is the most,the quercetin group is the second,and both of them are more than combining group,P0.01.CONCLUSIONS:Quercetin can inhibit the growth and proliferation of the MCF-7 transplantation tumor,and has the co-inhibitory effect with adriamycin on the proliferation of the tumor.
