Progress and Developments of High Performance Fiber Glass

GUO Yunzhu(Harbin FRP Institute,Harbin 150036)  
Wind turbine blades using reinforcements strength、high fatigue resistance for high performance glass fiber brings the opportunity of development.This paper reviewed the progress of high performance fiber glass both in China and aboard,introduced the development of high performance fiber glass multiaxial warp knitted fabric、matrix resin and vacuum assisted resin infusion.Compares the new generation of glass fiber with traditional,summary of high performance fiber glass advantages and main application areas.

It was found that the stress-strain curve of GF/PP composites had the similar shape with that of pure PP. Knitted glassfiber fabrics improved the tensile properties of polypropylene obviously.
