Factor analysis on spring precipitation in Fujian according to BP-CCA method

BP-CCA method has been used to analyze the relationship between 500 hPa geopotential high field and north Pacific Ocean temperature field during 1961—2002 and Fujian spring precipitation.Results show that spring rain amount in the next year is related with summer sea surface temperature.The sea surface temperature in summer(July,August,September) is a good estimate signal for the next year spring rain amount,especially in the area of the west wind drift and low latitude Pacific Ocean sea area.Precurson factors have different influence on spring rain of Fujian,among them the subtropical high over west Pacific,ENSO phenomenon and the west wind drift are the most important.
