THE CLIMATIC CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ITCZ ALL OVER THE GLOBE

Jiang Shangcheng(Department of Geophysics, Peking University)  
The outgoing longwave radiation (OLR) data derived from the NOAA polar orbiting satellites during the period June 1974 through May 1984 have been used to construct the climatic charts of ITCZ all over the globe. The monthly variation of the ITCZ over different parts of the tropical continents and oceans and it's climatic characteristics are researched. Especially it is revealed that there is annual oscillation of the double ITCZ over the Pacific Ocean.
