The Effect of Vitamin C on the Immune Cells in Head Kidney and Spleen of Goldfish(Carassius aueatus red Variety)

By using feeding and histology methods,the effect of vitamin C at 350,700,1 400 and 2 800 mg·kg-1 diet on the immune cells in head kidney and spleen of Goldfish was studied.The result shows:after 6 weeks of feeding with VC 1 400 mg·kg-1 diet or VC 2 800 mg·kg-1 diet,total number of cells、lymphocytes、neutrophils and melano-macrophages in the head kidney and the spleen of goldfish increase significantly compared with the control group.The study demonstrates that VC promotes obviously multiplication of immune cells in the head kidney and the spleen of goldfish.
