Progress of Heat Treatment for Cemented Carbide

SHEN Li-qun (Shanghai University of Engineering Science,Shanghai 200336)  
The research progress of heat treatment for hard alloys has been reviewed.The mechanical properties for common hard alloys,such as surface hardness?wear resistance?fracture toughness etc.,have been increased through quenching and tempering?boronizing?carburizing?boron-lanthanumizing?double quenching and tempering?vacuum heat treatment?ions implatation and laser heat treatment.Surface hardness as well as wear and thermal fatigue resistance for steel bonded hard alloys will be increased through adequate harding and tempering processes as well as boronizing and boron-sulphurizing.Therefore,the target to increase the service life of hard alloy products has been reached.
