Molecular Cloning of a Novel b-l,3-Glucanase Gene from Rice CO39

The genomic DNA was isolated from the four-leaf-phase leaves of rice seedling (Oryza sativa). CO39-β-l,3-Glu gene was cloned from rice cultivar CO39. Sequencing results showed that CO39-β-l,3-Glu gene was 489 bp in length, which was located in the chromosome 10 of rice genome by Blastn. The alignment results revealed that CO39-β-l,3-Glu gene had the similarity of 51.5 %, 47.2 % and 49.1 % to Gns7, Glycine soja clone Gs522194a endo-β-1,3-glucanase gene, and Glycine soja clone Gs464889_B endo-β-1,3- glucanase gene, respectively. It was concluded that CO39-β-l,3-Glu gene belongs to the b-l,3-Glucanase gene family.
