Rainstorm and Flood Disasters Zoning in Hainan Island Based on GIS Technology

Hainan Island is selected as a case study area,which suffers heavy rainstorm and flood disaster frequently.The combined role of 4 factors,such as the risk of disaster causing,the sensitivity of disaster environment,the vulnerability of disaster body,and the ability of disaster prevention/reduction,are comprehensively evaluated based on the technologies of rainstorm/flood disaster risk assessment and GIS.The risk assessment and rank division of rainstorm/flood disaster are processed.And then the rainstorm/flood disaster risk zoning chart of Hainan Island is planned.The research result shows that rainstorm and flood disaster risk gradually increases by the middle area to all around the coastal area.
