Analysis of Limiting Factors for K Uptake of Rice Root under Field Condition

According to the steady-state model set up in the water culture on rice,the feasibility of the model under field condition based on 4 experiments for K in a growth period of rice was studied. Three key parameters in the model,K absorbing power constant(a0),fluid flow velocity constant(v0)on root surface and K effective diffuseion coefficient(De)in the soil,were calibrated using Monte Carlo method. We found that a0,v0 and De were affected by the physical and chemical properties of soil,rice varieties and fertilization. a0 and v0 would be decreased with K fertilizer applied. But v0value was quite stabilized in different experimental sites or treatments.The value of De,K absorbing power(a)and fluid flow velocity(v0)on the root surface that were calculated by a0 and v0 respectively had the same order of magnitude compared with the plant experiments of seedling stage. There was significant coherence between simulated value and measured value of K uptake in different growth period of rice and the slop of linear regression equation was 0.914 0. Simulated error of CK and K fertilizer treatments were only(9.13 ±3.20)% and(8.42 ±3.04)%,respectively. Sensitivity analysis for parameters showed that the limited factors of K uptake on rice was K concentration(Cli),K uptake contant(a0)and root length(L).
