Clinical Observation on Therapy of Resolving Phlegm, Regulating Qi and Nourishing Yin in Treatment of Diabetic Gastroparesis

Objective:To observe the therapeutic effect of therapy of resolving phlegm,regulating Qi and nourishing Yin for the treatment of diabetic gastroparesis (DG). Methods:Sixty patients were equally randomized into 2 groups. Based on the routine diabetic treatment,the treatment group received therapy of resolving phlegm,regulating Qi and nourishing Yin,and the control group received domperidone. Results:The total effective rate on relieving digestive tract symptoms was 90.0% in the treatment group,and was 70.0% in the control group,the difference being significant between the two groups (P 0.05). Diarrhea occurred in one patient of the treatment group and then was relieved after reducing the dose,no other side effect was found. The time for the evacuation of half of the barium meal was over 210 minutes in the two groups before treatment (P 0.05),and was obviously shortened after treatment (P 0.01 compared with that before treatment),the shortening being obvious in the treatment group (P 0.05). Conclusion:Therapy of resolving phlegm,regulating Qi and nourishing Yin is effective for the treatment of diabetic gastroparesis.
