Effect of Uygur Medical Heat-conduction Sand Instrument on Blood Rheology of Knee Osteoarthritis Patients

Objective:To investigate the effect of uygur medical heat-conduction sand instrument on blood rheology of knee osteoarthritis(KOA) patients.Methods:Sixty KOA were treated with uygur medical heat-conduction sand instrument,and the changes of blood pheology were examined before and after treatment and were compared with those in 60 healthy volunteers(normal control group).Results:Compared with the normal control group,erythrocyte aggregation index,whole blood viscosity,whole blood reduction viscosity,plasma viscosity,and red blood cell deformation index were increased in the treatment group before treatment(P 0.05 or P 0.01).After treatment,the above indexes were decreased in the treat-ment group(P 0.05 or P 0.01 compared with those before treatment).Conclusion:KOA patients are complicated with dis-orders of blood rheology,and the blood is in hypercoagulabale state.Uygur medical heat-conduction sand instrument is ef-fective on improving whole blood viscosity,activating blood circulation and promoting inflammation regression.
