Growth of AgGaS_2 Single Crystals by Descending Crucible Method with a Three-temperature-zone Furnace

A new method with descending crucible in a three-temperature-zone furnace has been suggested for growing high quality AgGaS_2 single crystal. A crack-free AgGaS_2 single crystal with 10mm in diameter and 25mm in length was grown by the technique mentioned above. The results show the as-grown AgGaS_2 crystals have high guality from measured DTA curve,IR transmission spectrum and XRD spectra.
