Effect of Wear Resistance on Nanometer Lanthanum Borate in Lubricating Oils

Nanometer lanthanum borate with aparticle size in range of 10 - 70um was prepared using CO_2 supercritical fluid drying technique. Four- ball machine test was performed to study the antiwear properties of "anoder lanthanum borate in 500SN be Oil. The experimental results showed that nanometer lanthanum borate can improve the antiwear properties of base oil. The wear were investigated through X - ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).
