Micro-sliding Friction and Wear Properties of PS304 Coating against Si_3N_4

Self-lubricating PS304 composite coating was prepared on 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel substrate by atmospheric plasma spray.The microstructures and phase compositions of powders and the as-deposited coating were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction,respectively.The micro-sliding friction and wear behavior of the coating from room temperature to 800 ℃ were evaluated by a SRV high temperature tribometer.The results indicate that,both friction coefficient and wear rate of PS304 composite coating are relatively high at room temperature;the corresponding worn surface exhibits the obvious brittle fracture.The coating has the best friction-reducing and antiwear abilities at 600 ℃.The wear mechanisms of the coatings show different characteristics at room temperature and 600 ℃,which represent grain wear at room temperature,while adhesive wear and plastic deformation at 600 ℃.
