A MODEL FOR LIQUID PHASE METHANOL SYNTHESIS VIA MeF IN A BUBBLE COLUMN SLURRY REACTOR AT LOW TEMPERATURE

Computer simulation of methanol synthesis v ia MeF in the bubble column slurry reactor at low temperature was performed. F or the gas phase a plug flow model was assumed. Whereas the slurry phase was de scribed by unmixed liquid model. The effects of various operating conditions su ch as reactor temperature, pressure, superficial gas velocity and catalyst conce ntration, on the reactor productivity were studied. Results of the calculations and conclusions could be interesting and valid not only for the laboratory reac tor but also for the process designing of industrial plants.
